Surgical Workflow Modeling
Understanding the progress of a surgical procedure, including its current phase, ongoing actions, and likely next steps, is essential for building intelligent surgical assistants. We develop models that understand instrument–tissue interactions, recognize surgical phases, and infer surgical intent. Recently, we established a collaboration with Mayo Clinic Arizona to continue developing AI systems that address unmet clinical needs.
